Let Mike Rains, GRI Show You the Huntington Harbour

Huntington Harbour is a gorgeous coastal community located in northern Huntington Beach. The five man-made islands (Trinidad, Humboldt, Davenport, Gilbert and Admiralty) create a haven for boaters who use the waterways to cruise around and enjoy the amazing Southern California weather. In addition to the islands and mainland Huntington Harbour, there’s also a small, gated tract called Coral Cay, which is accessible from Pacific Coast Highway. It is not counted as one of the islands.

The islands are connected via Huntington Harbour waterways but are not accessible to each other completely, without “going around” Warner to Pacific Coast Highway and then Admiralty Drive. Many of the houses in Huntington Harbour have boat slips. Duffy boats are perhaps the most popular here given their ability to seamlessly cut through the water, and the visible exposure they offer.

The harbor is filled with gorgeous homes with docks, and taking a cruise is a favorite way to spend a weekend afternoon. Every December, the annual boat parade called the Cruise of Lights Boat Tour takes to the waterways. The colorfully-lit boats wind around the decorated homes, and it is the most well-attended event in the community.

Discover the Huntington Harbour

For busy families who are looking for local amenities and conveniences, Huntington Harbour is a great choice. A shopping center called the Huntington Harbour Mall features a Trader Joe’s grocery store, two banks, a post office, medical center, and five restaurants. Other nearby amenities include Marina Village Mall, Peter’s Landing Marina, Sunset Aquatic and Huntington Harbour launch ramps. Peter’s Landing Marina features complimentary two-hour guest slips for boaters interested in waterfront dining and shopping.

Huntington Harbour is surrounded by Westminster, Seal Beach and Sunset Beach, and Huntington Beach, so residents are afforded easy access to points east, and to a variety of beaches and nearby coastal cities both north and south. Families in Huntington Harbour send their children to schools in the Ocean View School District, including Harbour View Elementary School, Marine View Middle School and Marina High School.

In addition to the variety of area beaches and opportunities to surf, the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is nestled between downtown Huntington Beach and Huntington Harbour. The large, marshy wetland is mostly protected, and it is a popular place for bird-watchers and photographers to relax and take in the scenery.
